Default Transfer case fluid change.

16 F150 with 33,000 miles. I decided to follow this guys recommendation
to do a drain and fill every 30,000 miles. My fluid was pretty red still. I could have waited much longer but no big deal. It was cheap to do yourself.

On the video posted he states the customers vehicle has about 40,000 miles and the transfer case fluid was black. I've noticed other OEMs, Toyota in particular, recommend 30,000 mile fluid changes so I decided to do it. Ford says to change it at 150,000 miles lol. I'll probably wait 60,000 miles this time around before checking it again.

Lol. 150,000 miles is way to long without a fluid change. unless the truck is babied

@AMSOIL Dealer I don't seem to be able to DM you (perhaps because I'm new?). The Easy-Packs... are they just single quart containers with a small end on them to fit up in the trans? Perhaps using a hose?

I have a 2017 F-150 with the 5.0L and was looking at this page on your site:

Hmmm, it should let you DM me by clicking on my name. I'll send you a message as well, but the Easy-Packs are single quarts in a soft pack that allows you to easily squeeze the fluid out into a transmission or axles where it's difficult to fit a standard bottle. They look like this:

May be worth noting that Amsoil only sells a generic ATF in the soft pack. It's also around $21 retail per quart.
Granted, of all places that generic fluid may be fine top of the list may be in the shift on the fly transfer case of a XL/XLT (not Lariat and above) since there is no clutch. I would not use it in a torque on demand transfer case.
I would definitely not use it in the transmission.

Mercon LV is only $6.08/qt on Rockauto. However it is not in a soft pouch.
It's easy to pump, super thin fluid and doesn't smell like gear oil.

I definitely recommend the Valvoline soft pouches for gear oil.

Just get a pump and do it that way.

A cheap transfer pump will do it fine for the transfer case.

I did my my transfer case at 66k and the fluid still looked good. But I have a part time transfer and went with Valvoline Transfer Case fluid. For TOD definitely go with the 30k service interval using Mercon LV.
