Trailer Disconnected
It is a persisting condition that Ford Motor Company is unwilling to help fix. Call your states Attorney General, NHTSA, and the FCC. File complaints to hopefully get a recall.

Had the same issue until I figured out a better way to route the cable from the trailer. Also I use dielectric grease to make sure the plug stays dry. Plus I make sure the plug is locked into the cover lock.
