Everyone here is looking to, or has purchased a 2015. Trading in or selling privately is a big part of buying a 15(or any vehicle). Knowing what others have gotten helps to know if you're getting low balled. KBB, BB, NADA, are not accurate. It's all supple and demand as other here have said. Hopefully everyone would post there whole deal but even just what they got is a gauge to know if your deal is good/bad. Tough trading in when the 2015 are in high demand.

Just like poster #59 said "Supply and Demand." Dealers in my area have so many 2014's on their lot that are not selling fast why would they want a 2013 to also have to try and sell. I just checked in a 100 mile radius of me there are hundreds of them. Ford should have never stuffed dealer lots so full with the old style truck. They should have known people would want to wait for the new ones. And the other poster was dead on too, we can buy a brand new one for the price they would give for a trade in. I mean you can practically name your price on 2014's. No different than the current market with oil prices. So much of it out there people are not investing in it. Again too much supply not enough to demand.

But if you are happy, that is all that really matters! I ask because I'm curious and with low interest it isn't a bad idea to finance the maintenance
From what I was told, it's a full synthetic oil change and tire rot/bal every 5000 miles or when the oil percentage life is >10% - my choice.

The other thing is it extends the standard 3/36k bumper to bumper to 6/72k and if anything breaks, I don't pay anything. That thing has power everything so even something small like the power window regulator going out or the power tilt/tele on the steering wheel (since it moves every time you turn the truck off). Also, the potential for something going wrong with the new twin panel moonroof is there.

I bought the 7/100k extended warranty on my Toyota when I purchased the truck and aside from having the drivers side rear leaf spring going out and having to be replaced, I didn't use it. I still felt comfortable knowing I did. And you're right, $1400 isn't bad financed.

I'll get more clarification on the warranty when I go up to get my plates and bed liner. I was so overwhelmed with the truck itself when I bought it that I didn't have the mind to ask detailed questions.

Agreed that the inventory of new F150's is driving down used values currently. Everyone loves getting 10-15k off sticker when they are the one buying new, but you have to remember that has negative ramifications on the back end when you go to sell.

For a Platinum that costs $55k to begin with, you can pay about $40-42k right now on '14s. If a dealer offers $35k, they are going to be able to sell for $37-38k minimum.

As a consumer, I would always pay the extra $2-4k to have a vehicle that is current model year, new, and has a full warranty.

When I sold my '13 I had to eat some negative equity as well even though it was well cared for and low mileage. It really sucked, but I knew it was the reality of a depreciating asset.

But how much did they take of the new sticker? It really all depends on your area also. As I stated earlier, I traded my 2012 Platinum with 20,000 miles for $43,000. I paid sticker for the new truck at $60,400 minus rebates and coupon. (Or you could say I oaid invoice and got $38,000) They sold my used truck 5 days later for $42,500. I don't think this would be typical at many other cities so I do believe it's special to areas IMO.

I could have sold it for more privately and had I fought I may have been able to get more for the trade in. I politely voiced my concerns about the price but didn't make a big stink out of it. During finance they asked if I wanted the 6yr 72000mi bumper to bumper with free maintenance. I asked them the cost and they said $3400. I said no thanks. A guy came over and asked "would you be interested if I can lower the cost?". I said I'm always interested in a deal but at this point, I've been here 3 hours and I'm ready to go so it would have to be worth my while. He dropped the price to $1400.

Whether you agree or not, I felt that $1400 for free oil changes and tire rotations/balance for 72000 miles and a hassle free bumper to bumper at any Ford service provider was decent for the peace of mind it brings. I also felt that by dropping the price $2000 I got that much more for my trade.

The hardballer's out there probably think I got scammed or think this was a terrible deal but honestly, I walked out of the place feeling good about my purchase. Even looking at the paperwork the next day I still felt fine about it. X Plan made it a good deal as well without the back and forth crap. Stress free, didn't waste time, got what I wanted.

Window tint and spray-in bed liner part of the deal, not added. They didn't charge me for the dealer add ons.
the past 4 trucks i've owned-bought new- had two batteries and one set of tires, wiper blades and oil filter was 5 now 7 dollars. i guess 1,400 will cover that...
in my case i would have spent lots on gas driving to get your free stuff too

Yeah I know it is a big numbers game with dealers and us as consumers have to try and do our best figuring it all out. Which we will never totally do. I get my new truck at X-Plan minus any public and x-plan incentives. But I have a real cool salesman that I dealt with for my GT500, said he would call me Mon, Tues with more info. Again, big damn game of numbers!

Shopped my 2011 XLT 3.5 Scab to three dealers for trade value before ordering my 2015 using plan. It's at 82k miles but overall in very good shape. All three were between $16-17k on trade. Using that as my safety net when I try to sell it private party. KBB puts it at $21.5k private party. Told a buddy that loves buying/selling cars I'll split everything over $20k as an incentive. Once COTUS says 30 days remaining on my order, I'll start trying to sell it. Delivery is now showing 3/8.
