Default trade in question

I'm going to my dealer where I bought my XL and look at a XLT with 302 package or possibly a Lariat
Never traded in a good vehicle. Any advice to get the best outcome?
My truck is in great shape, Not clean by any means, too much rain lately.
Thanks
Dave

Just know in advance you're not going to get what you want for it. The dealer's make money by buying low and selling high. I would advise you look up trade in value for your truck online. That is usually the most you will get for it, after negotiation. Good luck!

Have your trade appraised at the nearest CarMaz. They’ve offered me more than other dealers and they’ll just buy it without having to buy from them.

Kbb is way low. The price they give you is below auction price

NADA is high, you are unlikely to get it but take the deal if you do. KBB is low. Edmunds is pretty accurate.

I have traded in many times and can say the dealers will always give you KBB "good" condition when assessing value even if your trade is pristine. Just remember that they always want to make a profit and it would be no sense for them to give you $20k for your trade and turn around and sell yours for $20k.
