Default Trade In Question

I'm about to pick up a new 2016 lariat. I'm trading in my 2013 FX4 and it has a set of 3 month old Duratracs. I have an old set in my garage with probably about 25% tread remaining (I took them off just before winter).

This would save me the expense of having to buy new tires for the new truck as I could just use the ones I bought 3 months ago.

The tires are the same, just some have more wear.

Would that be something that the dealer would check???

If they have already valued your truck then they would probably notice

Yes, they will take that into account.

Ask if they will swap the new tires from the Lariat to the FX4 and the almost new Duratracs back on the Lariat.

Keep in mind that this will require mounting and balancing each tire on the new wheels as the 2013 TPMS is not compatible with the 2016. Of course I expect you wanted the new wheels anyway.

Yes, the plan would be to just swap the tires.

When I bought my 2015 , I made them swap the tires ( as part of the deal ) also Duratracs. It was a win for them if you think about it, they got brand new tires on truck they would put on the lot, and historically when i have traded in Trucks with non standard tires ( these were slightly larger ), they change them up anyway before placing hem for sale. The had no argument about doing it at all.
