Default Traction control?

I've had my truck a year and a half and I just pressed the traction control button to turn it off for the first time. Haha. For those that have the traction control option (is it in every model?) do you leave it on all the time or turn it off? Is there a way in forscan to turn it off by default?
What exactly is the traction control doing electronically?

You can turn it off, but when the truck is turned off it defaults to back on.

Fixed it for ya. He was asking if there was a way to have it default to off using forscan. I'd like to know that as well.

No, you cannot turn it off with FORScan. Manual explains what it does, when it kicks back in regardless of button push, etc.

I put mine in Sport mode (double tap) each time I start up. I drive on enough crappy and/or gravel roads that being able to spin the tires a bit is useful.

Go read yours. I read mine... but unlike you I understand that forums are for people to discuss things regardless of what they've read or not. It's a helpful community... not a place for insecure power trip goons like yourself. Take the attitude somewhere else. I'm sure you have a Prius... they have a forum.

thanks for this tmh23. i have read my manual, but still being unsure of an exact answer to a particular question, and after checking u-tubes, it dawned on me- a vehicle specific forum. real world answers, most with excellent and orienting photos and most importantly individuals who had asked the Same question i'm asking and graciously sharing their practical experience gained through answering their own question. it is an outstanding platform to give and receive valuable information and advice. what works. what Doesn't work. brands/models of accessories that do what you want them to do, and don't require modification to either the part-or worse the vehicle, to make a particular accessory or part work. yes, you will run into individuals or viewpoints at odds with your own, but the biggest number of people on this most valuable (and appreciated) site are more than ready to step in and help a "Fellow Ford Lover" - and specifically our beloved F150's- enthusiast to maximize the enjoyment/reliability/performance of their ride.
and i thank the folks who have helped me so far, and when i can i will "pay it forward" to another newbie. or anyone here i can assist in any way. that's what it's all about. just my humble opinion.

Actually, now I know what one person says. You must have the extra special manual that does things like explain everything forscan can and can't do. Mine doesn't even tell me how to disable auto start/stop. Heck, mine doesn't even give specific details of what the traction control is doing electronically (as the OP asked), it only says what the TC does with limited detail of how it does it.
Where does one get this extra special manual that you have? Would love to read it.
