Luckily my dealer is only about 20 miles or so from the dearborn plant, so it was delivered quick after the build.

WOOT!! Mine is in production and I got the window sticker!! Wait until the dealer finds out I was right on the color of the sticker. He has never seen a green one yet has ordered tons of trucks. LOL Just curious why Sync Connect is in red on it.

It is a subtle hint warning you that you will now be tracked by FOMO for the rest of your life.

How do you determine when your dealer placed your order with Ford and when your VIN was assigned. Do you have to rely on what they tell you? According to COTUS it says "Ordered on" 7/5/2018. The dealer said something about allocation on 7/19/18 and they sent me the VIN on the 23rd.

Here is the info I have:
7/4/18 - Placed order with dealer
7/5/18 - Dealer placed order with Ford (Per COTUS)
7/23/18 - COTUS Status: In Order Processing - VIN assigned and estimated delivery 9/5/18
8/6/18 - COTUS Status: In Production - Estimated delivery 9/5/18

That looks correct. My dealer placed the order with Ford the day after I ordered and COTUS shows the correct information. Similar to your information. I received the VIN # a couple days later.

I ordered on 6/20/18. My order doesn't go to production until 8/16/18, 10 days after yours. But delivery date is the same as mine.

Interesting, mine was ordered 6/25 and is scheduled to be delivered 8/21. Guess mine got a higher priority, or had no commodities to hold it back.

Thanks for the info. I was hoping to backdate a PCO if the VIN was released before 7/9/18 but not sure how to prove that. The dealer did tell me it was supposed to go into production on 8/20 so it seems ahead of schedule but delivery date hasn't changed. Still can't complain on a 9/5 delivery date.

I am guessing that it is based on trim level. Would make sense to build similar trim levels at the same time.

Not so sure about that. The videos of trucks being built show all different colors and trims going down the line. There is an interesting read on how trucks are allocated to the factory and is based on commodities, not trims. If there is a limited amount of parts available, first come, first served, and priority sets which truck gets picked first, so if there are two trucks with similar options, and one of those options has one available, the truck with the lowest number(highest priority) gets selected first, then on the next pass the second truck gets bypassed due to lack of that one option/part. So it is possible that my truck had no commodities, while yours did, so mine got selected first.

Either way, gonna be a great day when both arrive eh?
