Default TPMS NOT Relearning

I got 4 new tires with 4 new tpms and for some reason the tpms will not relearn. I’ve even tried both ways to relearn them. Of course the tire place said that it could a problem with the computer on the truck.

They obviously put in the wrong frequency. What frequency was used, 433MHz or 315MHz ?

When I had my 2017 I bought new tires and OEM TPMS and one of the new TPMS was a dud.

99% of all TPMS in the USA is 315 MHz. Only a few Europeans sneak in in 433.

Meanwhile there are several dozen different packet formats on 315 MHz, each specific to an OEM, not to be confused with a specific vehicle manufacturer such as Ford, GM, Toyota.

You say nothing about what truck you have, what wheels you bought, from whom you purchased, from what they came off. You really say nothing useful, just complain.

Internet Forum Experts will insist to their last data packet that your F-150 will always magically detect new sensors. By magic. It just happens! Sometimes it will. The only certain way is to use a TPMS scan tool to read the sensors in the wheel and write the ESNs into the truck via OBD-II. This also serves to ensure the sensors read are correct for the vehicle being written to.

If your sensors were new virgin sensors then they need a 125 kHz wake-up signal from a “clicker” or TPMS scan tool. They are shipped dormant to preserve battery in storage. So they don’t wake when knocked around in shipping.
