Default TPMS Module

TPMS warning lights are coming up. Sensors will not relearn/calibrate with forscan or my scan tool. Feels like the module maybe the culprit. Where is this module located?

The TPMS does not have its own module. The main part of it is integral to the BCM. The signals from the sensors are retrieved by the RTM and that information is sent to the BCM which processes it and sends the information on to the IPC for display.

Have you added LED replacement bulbs lately? Especially in the CHMSL? Many aftermarket LEDs create enough RFI to interfere with the RTM which is mounted above the rear window not far from the CHMSL. Some bulbs offer RFI shielding but these can often start emitting RFI as they age.

A scan for DTCs with FORScan or a diagnostic scan tool (not an OBDII reader) will likely need to be performed in order to find the cause of the problem. Did all 4 tire pressures disappear at the same time? Have any of the TPMS sensors ever been changed? If not, the sensor batteries could be depleted which would require installing new sensors. Since all the sensors get used the same amount, it is not uncommon to have them all fail within a short period of time (but not all at the exact same time).

i did scan with forscan and i also have a xtool scan tool and they are showing the same codes B124D-02-8A, B115E-08-0B.
originally just the LR was not working so i entered calibration mode to try and relearn and then the rest went blank and not showing anything. I am not convinced it is batteries in the sensors causing this.

For B115E check your other thread.

B124D:02 Tire Pressure Sensor: General Signal Failure - sets in the continuous memory if any of the PMS sensors fail to transmit any tire pressure data.

Possible Causes:
  • Tire pressure not set to specifications listed on the VC label
  • Spare tire in use
  • TPMS sensor

I would not expect a fail of one sensor to be corrected by a re-learn attempt if it is no longer able to function.

Why do you think it is the truck and not the sensors. 2015? Your sensors are 8-9 years old. Many fail sooner.

Cost nothing but time to visit a tire shop and say, "I think my TPMS sensors have failed. Could you check?" Then watch the tech take a tool to each wheel to read the sensor within. If 1) he has selected the correct vehicle in the scan tool, and 2) it fails to read one or more sensors, then you need new ones. If he selects the wrong vehicle in the scan tool then it will fail all sensors even if they are good. This is particularly sensitive for Kia and/or Hyundai as one or both start manufacturing next year's model the first day of the year prior. 2024's started production January 1, 2023. In TPMS databases they use manufacture date for those models not model year.
