Default TPMS and low E tires

Has anyone had problems with the TPMS sensors and having E rated tires with the higher PSI tire rating?

Why problems? You need to reset them to a higher threshold to be useful.

The type of tire you have should not have any affect on whether the sensor reads 35 while there is 35 psi in the tire.

Can you expand on your problem a bit?

If it helps I have had an issue on my TPMS since I went to Cooper AT3 E rated tires.
My front driver side constantly reads 10PSI lower than the rest, even though on a calibrated gauge all four of my tires are at 38PSI.
Sometimes it loses communication with that particular tire. The weird thing is that even with a tire rotation (including rotating the spare) it's only that particular one which leads me to believe its a computer issue.
I haven't bothered to get it fixed yet, but I was thinking once I installed the trailer brake controller and got my reflash for that I would get Ford to fix it

Sorry, should have been more clear with my concern - load E tires have a max PSI of 80. If I fill the tires to say 65-70 PSI I wasn't sure if it would cause issues from the truck thinking they were over inflated.

Also, the new low PSI threshold would be higher then with traditional LT tires.

Is there a way to re-program this or would I need new sensors?

TPMS does not provide any "over inflate" alert, only an underinflate alert. If you want it to function with your new tires in that manner, either get the dealer to change the setting or use FORScan.

Oh, thanks for clarifying. My previous 04' Jeep had the same type of display where it gave all 4 tires live PSI but it had an over and under inflate warning. I just assumed this was the same I guess.

It sounds like the pressure setting can't be changed and a new valve would be needed that is programmed to a higher pressure. From the Ford shop manual:

"The BCM compares the tire pressure data sent by the RTM with a programmed tire pressure. This programmed pressure is specified on the VC label and cannot be changed."

I am quite certain you can change your tire pressure set point on your truck by using FORScan, check out that thread and start on page one.

I know you can set a new level for the 2014 and prior years with FORScan. Review of the 2015+ FORScan thread would let you know if it's possible for the newer trucks. That thread is extensive and includes a spreadsheet of all the possible changes.
