Towing ?
I'm currently looking to buy a 2020 5.0 10speed auto 3.73. The truck has the receiver but no tow package.
I will be towing a small camper (3000) in the mountains pulling up some long grades.
My main concern will be trans Temps without an aux cooler. I would like to hear opinions on this setup and how hard is it to add a Trans cooler to the a10.

If you are already talking with the dealer, ask to see the "eSourcebook" to determine the towing rating for your truck. It seems every year Ford screws up the towing guide and makes minor changes with some good and bad. The biggest items missing on this truck are the aux transmission cooler, oil cooler (per tow guide on all except 3.3L), and front stabilizer bar. It is fairly easy to add the aux transmission cooler and stabilizer bar. I am not certain about the oil cooler. You will be fine towing a 3000 lb. trailer with the receiver. I suspect your tow rating is about 5000 lbs. (but I recall seeing 7000 lbs somewhere else for the 10 spd.) in the configuration (i.e. without tow package 53A or 53C). The receiver option is 53B.
Another option: Check the 2020 owner's manual for the following:
RECOMMENDED TOWING WEIGHTS
Note: Do not exceed a trailer weight of 5,100 lb (2,313 kg) when towing with, or by,
bumper only. Note: Do not exceed a trailer weight of 5,100 lb (2,313 kg) if your vehicle is not
equipped with a Heavy Duty Trailer Towing Package.
The above statement is from the 2016 owner's manual. The Heavy Duty Trailer Towing Package is option 53A.
RANT: Ford should build every
truck with 53A or 53C to avoid the confusion.

I tow a 3,750-4,000 lbs boat with my 2018 5.0 that only has the class IV hitch package and even 3.31 gears and it does fine even in 95-100 degree weather. Transmission temp stays same as it does in normal driving. I do run 93 octane and use Tow/Haul mode. The engine will knock pretty bad running 87.
I don’t tow in the mountains but I have taken it up long steep bridges. It’s s beast. I don’t think you’ll have any problem.

Towing guides lists ALL 5.0 and 3.5EB as rated for 7000# tow capacity. BUT if actually using the ball in the bumper, that cuts it down to 5000#.
The 2019 Towing Guide graphs the lowest rating for any F150 with a 5.0 and 3.73 gears at 9400#.
