Default Tow hook installation

So I got a set thanks to some members giving me links, and getting ready to install them, maybe this weekend. Has anyone installed or replaced them and can tell me what I need to take off to get them in, and what I don't need to remove? Also need torque specs for the bolts.

That video, thank you anyway for posting it, does nothing for we '15+ owners.

The biggest hurdle would be finding the lower valance/bumper cover with the reliefs for the hooks themselves. I have the hooks, the hardware, and the boots, but no valance. I could conceivably cut the non-hooks valance I have, but I don't want to hack it up.

What year is your truck? I did this to my 2018 and just cut the holes on the covered up Valance rather than buying a new one.

I recently did this on my 2017 2WD. I bought all the pieces, hooks, nut plates, bolts, air ducts (rubber seal around hooks) and the valance. It was quite a chore to get this done. I didn't want to remove the bumper since I was doing it by myself and I didn't want to damage or have a crooked bumper. I removed the nuts from behind the bumper. There are 18 nuts and 4 screws. The front center bumper insert has to be removed to get to the 4 screws. It took a combination of sockets, deep and short, ratchet wrenches and combination wrenches to remove all the nuts. The brackets for the fog lights have to be removed to get to some of the nuts. The air ducts need to be on the hooks prior to installing since they will be stuffed in afterwards. I don't recall the torque, but I think in was around 55 ft lbs. This took me about 4 to 5 hours to complete. I took my time and had to spend time to figure out the next step. It was well worth it when I was done. There are a few writes up in this forum on doing it. I also contacted some of the members for a little direction.

Were there any clearly-defined lines or marks to cut out?

Do you recall any part # for this piece? Thanks in advance. I had heard this was a difficult piece to source.

I believe the valance is HL3Z-17626-BB. It's not too expensive, around $88, but the shipping is ridiculous. You need to shop around. I'll lookup where I ordered front this evening.

I may be able to split the difference to price + shipping by ordering it from my local Ford parts guy. Thanks a ton! for the part #.
