Yup. The NA V-8 is gonna have a lot more manifold vacuum than the TT 3.5 V-6. Not much compression braking with the EB motors.

8, 9, & 10th gears are all overdrives. Bad for towing in most cases.
Tow/Haul mode AND Sport mode use aggressive downshifting when using the brakes on downhills. Cruise Control does, too, to maintain set speed if over by 5mph.
You can always manually shift or lock out upper gears when towing. You can also manually engage the trailer brakes on downhills without using the truck brakes.

It’s easier to understand how it works if you’ve ever regularly driven anything that is built to haul 40,000+ pounds.

I personally like the Tow/Haul mode when I tow my boats...one is around 5,200 pounds and the other around 6,900 pounds. The more aggressive shifting profiles helps keep the Coyote happy, and the 'assist', i.e. engine braking whilst going down hill is worth its weight in gold.

It also doesn’t skip shifts in tow mode. I use it all the time when towing.

I towed a ~3,400# enclosed trailer across country without ever touching tow/haul mode in my 2015 V8, no problem, not really sure what advantage tow/haul provides.

If you had 8,000# behind your truck you would.
