Default Touchscreen issues

So over the past two days the touchscreen in my 2016 has frozen twice. The reset has resolved the issue, but there's clearly an issue. The bit of quick searching I did pulled up the a thread where the common culprit with the touchscreens seems to be the APIM. Is there a part number for that or how can I find one? Is this it a dealer install only type of thing? Just trying to figure out what the cost difference would be between OEM and just putting an aftermarket unit in. TIA

Your best bet is to find one on ebay that is a newer generation. You will either need to use forscan to copy your config and upload to the new one, or in some cases the seller will ask for your vin and upload "as built". The dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for something you can replace in an hour.

Thanks, never thought about the Ebay route. Truck is paid off and turning into a work truck for my side business since I WFH for my day job now. Trying not to spend an arm and a leg on any solution.

Assuming that you have Sync 3, I have a non-navigation APIM from a 2019 F150 and a Navigation APIM from a 2020 F150 for sale . . . PM if interested
