Default Touchscreen blinking on/off

my 2016 f150 has recently been blinking on and off, after a while on the road it will work properly until I stop and start again or when it cycles to night mode which starts the blinking again. I have tried both soft and hard reset with no success. Is there some way to diagnose this other than part swapping?

I’ve learned you can reset the Sync3 by holding down power and the forward seek button. Give it a shot.

Which system does your truck have?
  1. Base system without SYNC
  2. SYNC without touchscreen (4" display)
  3. SYNC with touchscreen (8" display)
Ok. Read the title so you have a touchscreen. With FORScan or a diagnostic scan tool you can check for DTCs from the APIM, FDIM and FCIM. FORScan can also initiate module self-tests.

APIM = Accessory Protocol Interface Module, aka: SYNC module
FDIM = Front Display Interface Module (touchscreen)
FCIM = Front Controls Interface Module (centre stack faceplate w/**** and HVAC controls
