So I changed out my antenna to a shorty and the screen started working again. Go figure but I wanted to share my results if anyone runs into this problem. 🤷‍♂️

Wow, antenna....I just started having this issue with my 2014....after taking it to the car wash. I called dealer about the FSA, but it expired 31 January so no joy from Ford. Holding buttons doesn't seem to be working, but I haven't tried the battery yet.

The antenna has to be a coincidence IMO, since it has nothing to do with Sync. It probably reset itself overnight; that's what happened when mine crapped out and left me with no radio, bluetooth, or nav. Nothing worked to fix it, and had to travel for hours like that, but next day it was like nothing happened. Now I have the latest build version (19205), and latest maps (1.18), and no more issues. Hope it stays that way.

At any rate, did any of you with the problem try doing the update? Maybe when you stick the USB and it starts loading the files, it'd respond again. Worth a try . Good luck.

2016 APIM's were known for hardware issues. They would lock up and go unresponsive, features wouldn't work, bluetooth became unstable.

I have this issue as well. Had it a couple of years ago and replaced APIM under warranty. Doing the same thing and now they want to charge as vehicle is out of warranty. Used to love Ford...but my patience is wearing thin. This is on my 2018 Ford F150.

Also have a 2013 Ford F150 that will auto downshift while on highway, thus slowing the vehicle way down. This is a known recall and I have been waiting since last May for the part...still on back order. I know there is an issue with parts now days but I am worried about this down shift happening when it is icy out. Could cause a bad accident.

This is generally how a warranty works.

I already know how a warranty works. I just thought a replacement part put in a year and half ago should have a longer life span then that. Please don't respond if you don't have anything decent to say....Karen.
