ProTip: Now that you have discovered the button, you may have seen the display disappears if you push the plus if you already see all 10 numbers displayed.

That is for the user to turn on/off the number display. In the future when you are 'missing' your display, you'll know how to get it back on by pressing either up or down.

If you are totally comfortable never shifting your trans, then yeah just leave it in 10. I can't go a day without manually shifting mine due to the lousy shift strategy used on the F150's.

Agree with above about reading the manual -it may set you at ease. You didn't screw anything up, the option is there intentionally.
