Default Tires

Looking for new tires for my 2015 4x4 XLT Screw.
Quiet ride is real important. Don't do much if any off roading and don't get much snow anymore.
Has to do well on wet streets and the occasional snow storm.
Who do you like buying from?

Michelin Defender LTX M/S

I get a price from tirerack or discount tire direct, add $25 per tire for local mount and balance, then call a few local shops to see if they can get close, without mentioning prices from any online places. If I have a costco/sams/etc I'll check their prices as well. The last few sets of tires for the family Costco has been the best option by ~15-20%. My dad's been running Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza Plus for the past two sets and they've been quiet, wear well, good wet grip, and right now are almost $200 cheaper a set than the Michelins.

Anything from the top brands, Bridgestone, Michelin etc. and road focused, so all weather, not all terrain.

I buy all my tires from www.tirebuyer.com. Just replaced the ones on my 2015 earlier this year. I went with Continental TerrainContact HT tires after reading/watching may reviews online. I also don't do much (if any) off roading in my "pavement princess" so I opted for a highway tread. They had excellent ratings and reviews in all categories.....especially wet road traction and braking. So far I have been very pleased with them.....seem to be wearing great and they're very quiet. Before you make any decisions I highly recommend you look into them and also look into tirebuyer.com. Any questions about either the tires or the website tshoot me a PM.

I'll second this reply. Best tire I put on my 2010 when I still had it. I went from Cooper AT 3 to the Defenders. Not only did I get very little road noise but, I actually gain about 1.5 mpg. They did well in the rain and snow also. Defenders are rated for 70K and in my research a lot of people were getting pretty close to that and some were even getting more.

My current truck that I bought used back in April came with almost brand new Firestone Destinations. So far, I am like them as well. I have not driven with them in the snow yet obviously but, with the rain I have no complaints. They are rated for 50K miles I believe. I will see how many miles I actually get. Hopefully I will have a few years before I will need to worry about buying tires again.

I have to agree about the Continentals, have about 5k on mine and would definitely buy them again.

I took a risk and went with the Pirelli Scorpion AT+ from Tire Rack. These tires have been AMAZING. I've owned BFGs, Michelin, Yokohama, Goodyear, Firestone, Continental etc...a mix of all terrain and mud terrain. Although I only have about 5k miles on these Pirelli's I must say they are great. Handle amazingly on dry pavement and are quiet. Very smooth. 3 peak snow rating (although i haven't driven them in the snow yet) and seem to do well in rain. Recently took a road trip and was cruising comfortably at 65 in a downpour on mountain roads.

I can 2nd this review. i have had mine for about 3000 miles now on my 16 screw. Rain traction is good. I haven't done any sand or snow yet. Mavis had them for $197 a piece. Just over $1k for all 4 installed with road hazard.
I had the following on my 2010 mid-level Coopers (sucked) Goodyear (wear fast for the price) BFG (don't remember which) wet traction was bad and Michelin lx2 (stocks) they were the best on my 2010. Thes AT+ beat the Michelin. My 16 came with Hankook but they were worn down at 25k when I bought the truck.
