Default Tires

hi Everyone,

i have a 2015 Lariat with 18’ stock rims. It’s time for new tires and I can get a good discount from Goodyear. I live near Minneapolis so looking for a good all season tire but I’m hoping to get something taller than stock as the current (OEM) tiresjust seem small on the truck.

Any suggestions on what the largest tire I can get would be?

Thanks!

todd

Are you doing a level or staying stock on the 18's? Without a level, I don't know if I'd go past 33" for a tire. If you do a 2-2.75" level, 34's easy with no trimming. Just an All season tire and not a hybrid or mild AT?

Thanks for the reply. No intention on adding any height as I have to frequently park in parking garages. A small increase from a bigger tire is negligible, but I want to stay safe. I am looking at the Wrangler Fortitude HT but the biggest it comes for 18” rims is my stock size; 275/65 R18. It is my DD and I want to maintain low road noise as well as good trailering manners. I have a 18’ enclosed snowmobile trailer. Maybe there is an AT that fits my requirements?

You could look at the wrangler Duratrac 275/70r18. That's a really nice tire. It has a 33.2" diameter.

That does look nice, thanks! Any idea why they don’t offer a treadwear warranty? Or any guess as to what to expect for life expectancy?

Typically tire manufacturers don't offer treadwear warranties for LT designated tires.

Just had these installed this morning Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT LT275/70r18. They come with a 65,000 mile tread wear warranty. They are extremely quite, a bit firmer ride being 10ply but no front tire rub.

Thanks for everyone’s input! Got my new Duratrac’s. Way better grip in the snow, but to be fair the OEM tires were at 50k miles.
