Tire replacement
Hello everyone….Running 2nd set of original equipment Goodyear Wrangler Fortitudes. Looking to replace and upgrade tires since now towing a 7500 lb travel trailer. Anyone running Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse LT’s? Thoughts on those tires or any other recommendations? My preference is highway tread and quiet ride. Thanks in advance. Mike
Yes, WDH, sway bars, 11,500 payload, tongue weight 810. 3.31 rear end. Electronic TT brake control. Current 275 65R 18, GY Fortitudes which are like 5 ply SL. Are the Michelin Defenders pretty quiet?

If you actually measure 810# for a 7,500# trailer, your tongue weight is dangerously low.
Yes, Michelin Defenders are quiet.
Both the 810 and 7500 are my max loaded guesstimates. Unloaded and dry are 610 and 5300 per the manufacturer. Both unloaded and loaded tongue weights are approximately 11%. It’s my understanding that tongue weights should be 10% minimum. Cargo capacity of TT is 2200. I’ll be heading to the scales to learn actual weights. Good to hear the Michelin’s are quiet. Thank you.

You need your tongue weight to be at 13%..10% is WAY too low
The dry weight tongue weight is a mythical spec. My trailer's spec'd dry tongue weight is 450#...when loaded up, I am actually at 800#
What does your sticker inside your door jamb say the payload is?
