Default Tire pressure sensor help

I have a 15 xl with tire sensors. Installed aftermarket 22s and then ended up using my brothers 2015 xlt sensors. Called ford and they verified they were the same part numbers by using the vins of the 2 trucks. Well once I had his sensors installed in my 22s it won't see to program to my truck. Can anyone give me some insite to why? I've fully aired out my front drivers side during the procedure.

Do you have a TPMS reset tool? You need one.

To get into programming mode-

  1. With the ignition OFF, press and release the brake pedal.
  1. Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 3 times, ending in the RUN position.
  1. Press and release the brake pedal.
  1. Position the ignition to OFF position.
Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN 3 times, ending in the RUN position

The horn will sound if you did it right, then follow the instructions in the message center. Train the tires LF/RF/RR/LR with the TPMS tool. The horn will sound after each tire and after the last the message center will say training complete.

You can't do it without the tool.

Can't the shop that mounted your tires do it for you? Or take it in to your dealer. Some will do it for free, it only takes a minute. At worst you might get charged a half hour labor.

The Ford training tool 8c2z-1a203-a is available on the net [Ebay Amazon etc.] around $30 shipped you can train without it but if you rotate your own tires it is wise investment.

So before I buy it it's 100% guaranteed that it will work and I can't just do it letting air out? Sorry to sound ignorant just don't want to wait for this to ship and be let down. Spent a lot of money yesterday to swap.

Just as an FYI I bought the Ford sensors and put them in my 2013 FX4 rims and put thise tires on. Didnt have to do anything they worked right away without any tool. I did the same in my 2013 bought the set in question put them on and yup they worked. So I have kept those rims and purchased 15 sensors and they are on my truck now.

Also when I change them around from pair to pair I have to drive for 15 or so miles before they connect
