Default Tire Options

I am starting to look at replacing my original tires, Goodyear Wranglers. I use the truck on-road only and wanted to know if others replaced with OEM tires or went with another brand.

FWIW...I know you said on-road, but I recently went with Falken Wildpeaks after running Terra Grapplers. Nitto's are great and we will see on the Falkens. I drive mostly highway too and only occasionally go off road, but like the aggressive tire look.

tire size matters on availability. You mentioned on-road, but what is your preference: function or form?

Falken Wildpeak AT4. I had those installed this summer and love them.

My truck came with Goodyear LR C tires. I quickly tired of the Goodyear ride and noise. With a set of Sport wheels I had Cooper ATS mounted. The ride and noise improved for a while until they wore down but the handling became more crown sensitive. I recently replaced them at 40k miles. Unable to find a suitable tire in a highway tread mostly because LR C tires seem to be an endangered species and only come in AT tread, I went with P metric XL rated Bridgestone Weatherpeak tires. The manners improved greatly.

Michelin defenders. If you’re on road only, an AT tire will only get worse fuel economy and be louder.

When my 275/60r20 Hankooks wear out, I’ll be going back to Michelins like my last truck.

Nothing will have a nicer, smoother, quieter ride.

Another vote for the Michelin Defender. It's just a good ole man tire. No bling, looks decent, rides great, lasts long, great performance in various weather conditions.

I have a 2017 150 and just yesterday I put on my 2nd set of michelin defenders. They wear well ,are good in snow and are quiet on the road and highway at 80mph. Nuff said!
