Default Tire Chains?

I'm looking to get tire chains for my truck as my state requires I at least have them in the truck while going over the passes. The manual says they recommend changing to steel wheel to avoid scratching the aluminum wheels. Cost wise, that's not really an option for me, anyone out there put chains or cables on their tires and had good luck? Thanks for any advice or product recommendations.

I will also be purchasing chains in a couple of weeks to drive up to the mountains for New Years. And after ready the reviews on the stock fortitude HT. The tires seem to suck in the snow.

I will be getting cables though. Easier on the truck and smoother drive. But still work great.

Default Tire chains

Hello Just test fitted standard gauge (not mud) chains on stock LT 275/65/18 AT/S tires and rims (7 1/2"). Ford says no. I think they will work if they are kept really tight. About 1" clearance from shock. Did not check front. Bill Oregon
