Default Tips for installing Auto Start/Stop Module

I have no issue getting center console off, its the part where you press the tabs with your fingers and pull the switch through the trim. I can get one side of the switch out pretty far (the auto start switch not hazards) but can't even push it through forcing that side (gradual pressure). Are there any tips that any of you have found in order to get the switch through? Ive had best success using my left hand sitting slightly off center to the passenger side w/ bench seats in my '19 F150 XLT. I am coming off post shoulder surgery right side lol but i am almost 3 months in so doing better to the point I can tackle small projects. I'm considering using needle nose pliers maybe offset ones but will definitely be putting some protection on the OEM screen beforehand.

I don't believe I removed the switch. It shouldn't be necessary.

+1 I also don’t think you need to pop the switch out in order to unplug the harness and put in the start/stop eliminator.

Also, if you do have to pull the switch out, it goes in from the back of the trim and has to be removed by releasing the tabs and pulling it out from behind. No pulling it out through the front of the trim if I’m remembering correctly on this generation of truck.

I bought the 'plug into obdii port' version. Has worked as it should for 3+ years.

I don’t have any tips, you just have to be patient and squeeze it. I can usually get one side to barely release then do the other side.

ive never tried it without removing the switch but im getting ready to re-install mine so ill try.

its usually easier to get one side, barely push it out a little, then do the other side. I’ve also got nerve damage so my fingers are on the weak side so I get it.
