Let me get this straight, you had a 2016 and decided you wanted a 2018? And your wife let you get away with that? Or are you one of those dang bachelors who does whatever he pleases? :-)

Anyway. Thanks for the info. BTW, I like your wheels better than the ones I got with my XLT of the same color. I got the Chrome package, which doesn't suit me. I prefer black instead of chrome.

I definitely have to do something. I'm burning up in the clear front glass now. And it's not going to get any better.

My 18 with 20%

My previous 16 with 20% ceramic.

Crystalline is not cheap. I paid about $700 from a very well regarded facility here in DFW to do the windshield and all four side windows. My back window was tinted by the dealership (didn't ask, they thought they were "being nice") but I have a large commercial topper on the back, so I left the cheap tint back there since it doesn't see much sun at all.

F150s are a little more expensive because of the drop-down on the front side windows and the three piece rear glass (especially with the slider).

You can search for installers here. You want someone who is Crystalline Certified:
https://get.3mskins.com/home/open/#/...publicsearchwf

Ping other certified dealers in your area and see what they have to say on price. I think it's a little high, but it all depends on location.

I thought it was high too. The dealer I found is in a pretty ritzy area and clearly caters to the hoity toity crowd. He's supposed to be good, though. Thanks for the link...

Mine was about $900 for crystalline all around, windshield and two panel sun/moon roof.

If I had to do it again I'd go 10% front windows. I'm happy with 70% front and 40% on the dyed glass in the back and rear. Easy to see out and upon testing dash temps, one with no tint on front windows and windshield 180-degrees, my truck 140-degrees.Tested with Fluke 62Max+ IR temp gun

Not accurate - with regards to darkness you can have 28% on the two front windows on cars, trucks, suv, etc. Rear passenger and back window for cars is 15%. Trucks, SUV's rear windows and back glass is 6%.

Now with reflection....it's the same across the board for all vehicles: Front is 25% and rear is 35%.

Windshield - illegal but many people have done it - some film doesn't even look like it's on there but it really does a good job of blocking the heat.

I do alot of shooting with cops, atf and all. They keep meters in there cars. Around here if you have darker than 30 in the front. they can ticket you!

Most places also will not install the darker in the front. keeps them out of trouble also.

Borracho..

Get a medical note from your doctor and get a tint exemption. You'll be fine. This exemption covers front windshields. Good luck!

Here is the form you will need: https://www.flhsmv.gov/pdf/forms/83390.pdf

And the statue:
(1) The department shall issue medical exemption certificates to persons who are afflicted with Lupus, any autoimmune disease, or other medical conditions which require a limited exposure to light, which certificates shall entitle the person to whom the certificate is issued to have sunscreening material on the windshield, side windows, and windows behind the driver which is in violation of the requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957. The department shall consult with the Medical Advisory Board established in s. 322.125 for guidance with respect to the autoimmune diseases and other medical conditions which shall be included on the form of the medical certificate authorized by this section. At a minimum, the medical exemption certificate shall include a vehicle description with the make, model, year, vehicle identification number, medical exemption decal number issued for the vehicle, and the name of the person or persons who are the registered owners of the vehicle. A medical exemption certificate shall be nontransferable and shall become null and void upon the sale or transfer of the vehicle identified on the certificate.

(2) The department shall exempt all law enforcement vehicles used in undercover or canine operations from the window sunscreening requirements of ss. 316.2951-316.2957.

(3) The department shall exempt from the window sunscreening restrictions of ss. 316.2953, 316.2954, and 316.2956 vehicles that are owned or leased by private investigators or private investigative agencies licensed under chapter 493.

(4) The department may charge a fee in an amount sufficient to defray the expenses of issuing a medical exemption certificate as described in subsection (1).

(5) The department is authorized to promulgate rules for the implementation of this section.

Wow good idea never knew that... I would not go through the trouble. Don't buy cheap tint and 30 does just fine

<Snip >.
Out Friggin Standing! Now that's why I come to places like this. You're not going to see a better "pay it forward" kinda guy than LE_Ranger! Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate it! I meet with my dermatologist in a week and I'll have her sign this form. Hopefully Florida will recognize a Dr. From UCLA until I can get one on base in Florida to do it? I also have Texas Driver's License, but since I'm military, I hope they accept it. I used to have a Florida License 10 years ago, but it expired. I'm sure they have some way of doing it.

Thanks again!
