Thoughts on Cobb tuning?
So, just a final note to close this thread up.
Bottom line, with Cobb, for an engine and trans tune with a 30% discount it would have cost me $815 and some change. Combine that with the fact that it was release candidate code(not final so a little risk there) and I would have to provide daily logs.
Out the door for 5 Star it was $560 which included engine and trans tune...not to mention it is tried and true and I've never heard anyone here say anything negative about them.
I'm sure Cobb is great and the Q&A they provided was outstanding...but in the end, even they couldn't justify why their offering was ~250 more than 5 star...and that was WITH the 30% discount. So, ordered the 5 star and we'll see what happens. Hopefully it wakes up my Limited.

I just noticed your user name - are you a BMW guy? Cobb tuners is very popular in the BMW community and very reputable.
I don't blame you one bit with going with the 5 star tune as it is more popular on F150s and was significantly cheaper.
... i would be interested to see a comparison between the two and what exactly the Cobb tuning does... hopefully someone pulls the trigger and posts up some info!
I used to be. Had an E36 M3, E46 M3, E92 Dinan 335.... But I'm a Ford guy at heart and I guess it was just fun for a bit. Love my F-150 and my Shelby so can't imagine ever going back. I guess the handle just stuck over the years. lol
With all this knowledge about tuners : and since the original post is resolved. I am wondering why no one mentioned Banks tuner or I Dash as an alternative? What's the general concerns about this tuner ?
COBB makes awesome products and expanded into the Ford market last year. They started with Raptor tuning and are now working on the full 3.5L HO lineup (Limited) and will eventually work into the regular 3.5L market as well. Great products from a great company.
Head over to the Raptor site and read all you want about COBB and other tuners for the Raptor, as Our 19/20 Limiteds have the same drive train, it would pertain to us--Except we are a little on the lighter side

A guy I knew from my mazdaspeed days got an ecoboost f150, first gen, and got the ngauge with 5 star tunes and turned me on to it. I REALLY like the ngauge and how it integrates. It basically looks like a gauge and functions very nicely like one. I haven't sent any revisions in to 5 star yet but I probably will.
I can say the 93 performance tune on my 2017 is just silly, stupid fun. If I turn off traction control, I can easily smoke my 35's. As it is, if I 4hi/traction control off launch with some boost built, the *** end of the truck squats and it just GOES. I haven't used the e30 map yet....i may get addicted to it.
