Thoughts on 2015 pricing
Sorry in advanced if this is the wrong place to post this, but I didn't see a forum for new dealership sales, only sales between community members.
I was all set to order a 2016 in the spring before the cutoff and got to thinking, now that there are more 2016's out there than 2015's, maybe a dealer would be aggressive in pricing the leftovers.
I found a 2015 Lariat, loaded. MSRP is 58,700 and they quoted me 51,900 including freight but no incentives or tax/tags/title (I asked for a sales price only quote, not the "gimmick" quote that dealers always advertise).
Anyway, that's a good chunk off the MSRP, but I expected more. Hell I can order my 2016 Lariat for near that price. I have no idea if Ford is giving dealers additional help or money on moving 2015's.
I shot back 48,500 before rebates. I'm waiting for their reply, but was wondering if I'm kidding myself with asking for 10K off sticker and if I should stick to my guns when they inevitably say no. haha. I've heard of people getting this much off 60K 3/4 ton trucks, but haven't seen much on 1/2 ton luxury trucks.
Thanks for your opinions!
UPDATE:
So in case anyone was curious, they came back with accepting my $48,500 but that would be including the rebate and financing with one of their lenders. They also offered me a comparable demo at the price I wanted. I declined. I will just keep checking the Lariat rebates and see if I can snag a 2016 later in the year at a steal. \
I was thinking of ordering an XLT because the rebates are $3750 right now, but I can't see buying a truck with a 53K MSRP that lacks some of the features that the Lariat has standard. I mean, I can get a Ram Limited for as much as the XLT I built. And most dealers are knocking 8-10K off the MSRP BEFORE rebates. If it weren't for their rep, I'd consider it more!
Anyone know if they ever offer large rebates on the LARIAT trim NOT the XLT???

Contrary to what most people think, a higher MSRP doesn't translate to larger discounts. The inverse is typically true. Regardless, I wouldn't buy a 2015 Lariat right now unless you could get at least $12k off MSRP. At this point the earlier model year will cost you in resale, plus you won't get Sync 3 or Pro Trailer Backup Assist.

I got a 2015 xlt supercrew 4x4 with the 302A for 34,300 out the door. Some dealers are being super aggressive getting rid of the 2015 inventory. Not all dealers are doing this however.
