As the title says, just wondering how the experience with Sync Connect has been for those with 2017s who have it. Have you found it useful? How's the overall user experience? Would you recommend it.

I believe pre-2017s can be retrofit with this feature.

 

No, pre-2017's can not be updated with Sync Connect.

But you can add the remote access modules, which gives you the ability to local/unlock, remote start, alarm notifications via text or email and flash lights/honk horn. I have the remote access module, it works well. Costs $49/yr for service. Nice not having to be in range of the key fob to start the truck or make sure it's locked.

 

I have it in 2017 Escape, its nothing to dance circles over.

 

Wife has it on escape. She likes it for one feature, remote start. She works in a office building and instead of riding elevator down and going half way into parking lot to start car on cold days she does it at her desk. I like it as I can check on her car pay attention to miles / if she's low on fuel I'll know and take it for errands and fill her up.

 

Remote start resets climate controls major issue right now. Sync Module cannot talk to vehicle properly, can start car from anywhere but resets some functions to off.
