Sync 3; switch from Android to Apple
I upgraded from a GS4 to an Iphone 7 and so far I am not too happy with the sync 3 integration. With the Android, I could access pandora and spotify via bluetooth (granted, the controls in spotify were spotty at best) and once I plugged in the USB I would have Android Auto. I paired the new Iphone (which was running IOS 10.1) to the truck and was rather surprised when it told me that it had to be connected via USB to run the apps. So I plugged it in, opened spotify, and was disappointed with the controls (example, the option to turn shuffle on and off didn't work). No Carplay option at this point, I would have to replace the USB port on the truck. Looked around on the forum a bit and saw people are recommending upgrading to 10.2 and re doing the bluetooth pairing; so I did that. Now, when I plug in the USB and try to connect apps, it doesn't even recognize spotify as an option.
Does anybody have any recommendations for improving the IOS/Sync performance, or just have similar experiences to share?
