Here's one you can try, I bought one a long time ago and it's still working great.

We install them at the dealership I work at, so when I purchased my truck there it was already installed. Ours are called Pulse. Its just a wire attachment that connects to the third eye itself. I have since removed to replace with a smoked LED. I can take a picture of the wiring on the old one if you'd like.

Flashing is illegal for all brake lamps, including the CHMSL, and for good reason. Deviation from expected behavior is distracting.

Ever notice that it's hard to determine closing rate with a cyclist that has one of those blinky lights (after dark) and no reflector? When there are flashing lights, our pupils cannot contract and expand fast enough to maintain the proper range of light hitting the retina. During flashes the object is over-exposed, between flashes the object is under-exposed. This causes our brain to start working overtime to fill in gaps in the information, taking away from other processes like.... determining closing speed, observing proximal objects, identifying hazards, etc.

As much as people think having a flashing light helps, at best it does nothing to improve safety, at worst it makes things less safe. The best thing you can do to improve safety is to ensure there is a fast transition of the brake lamp between off and on (LED good), and that the brake lamp output is significantly greater than the tail lamp, but not to the point of causing glare to following motorists.

sorry dude, I think you know not that of which you speak. Chevrolet Colorado trucks have blinking third brake lights OEM. You might want to recheck your “facts” before you start spouting off about something bring illegal.

You should check your own "facts" dude. Federal regulations require new vehicles sold in the U.S. to have solid (non-flashing) brake lights including the CHMSL. If you're seeing new trucks driving off the lot with a flashing CHMSL, they were installed by the dealer, one of the cheap and pointless mods some dealers make so they can tack them on the invoice at 4 times their cost to make some extra profit off suckers who don't know they can refuse to pay for them.

The legality of aftermarket flashing CHMSLs in the U.S. varies by location. Everywhere, they are super annoying, and there's no evidence they are any more effective than normal non-flashing CHMSLs. If someone can see your flashing light, they can see your non-flashing light.

Sounds like you are one of those who were swindled by said dealer. It is NOT legal.
