A while ago there were some threads speaking of adding a third brake light camera system to a 2020 and similar gen F-150. I thought I had maybe saved these posts, but I cant find them in my subscribed threads and I'm probably using the search engine wrong. Is there a company that makes an integrated camera system for these gen trucks? Looking for something similar to the F-250 stuff of course, and something that has the ability to see the camera view without being in reverse. Does that even exist?

there are some generic 3rd brake light cameras on Amazon and trailer etc. I wasn't a huge fan of how the ones I saw sealed. Morrimoto just released a 3rd brake light with slot for the Ford camera (I got one used off eBay). The light should come this week for me. I got a digital rearview mirror that it will run off of.

I like that kit, but I was planning to do something similar just using the connector where the camera connects under the bed.... I would think it's only 4 wires needed to strip and add a 4PDT switch and camera.... somebody here was making connectors for other kind of wires wondering if he have those connectors and can make one

I just saw this on Morimoto's website and this very idea struck me, which resulted in a google search that brought me to, what seems to be a twin install. Please do a thread if if the time affords, would love to know of the results. Else will stick with my recently purchased Garmin mini in place.

 

So one issue with this. If you buy the camera version of the morrimoto 3rd brake light and a ford oem camera, then you wont have rhe correct morrimoto hadness to plug into your trucks lights. I ran into this and morrimoto doesnt sell just the correct harness. I did get them to send me one since I was stuck and past rerurn. So ask them if you can buy the non camera version harnesses before you jump into this. I received it recently and didn't have a chance to install it yet. I need to find the pin out for the ford oem camera for power ground, video + and - first.

 

Cheers for that, I just ordered the one with the camera install, hopefully I can RMA it for the one without the camera if it doesn't work.
