Default Thinking Longterm - Redesign?

I have a 2011 with 70k miles that I want to take to at least the 150k mark.

Have there been any indications as to when a new redesigned truck would be out?

Following Fords history we had new models in 2004, 2009, 2015 with new engines and facelifts mixed in between model years.

Do you guys think we will see a completely new truck in 2020?

That would put me right around the 150k on my 2011. I need to start saving for sure! By that time a loaded XLT will be $60000! LoL

My Friend...Really? they just came out. sounds like you need to get off the internet for 5 years and come back then. A minor redesign of the body by be due then.

It's not even like the new redesign looks all that different from your's cosmetically that is.

I'd be full of envy too. Don't judge him.

No, it is actually going to be 2019. I have already placed an order and my dealer is giving me 40% off invoice as he actually has a 45% profit margin at invoice....

I was talking to a Ford Designer last night while wathcing the news about Paris, they are already working on the new body style, should be out in a month or two.

Base Price $88k, but that's in Canada, not sure about the US.

Also, I have a gold mine in Nigeria that my great-great-grandfather left me when he passed away last week at 136 years old, if you are interested to invest, hit me up.

in short: really?

My guess is that the frequency of the body redesigns will be much slower as autonomous driving technology, more efficient drive trains, and infotainment is incorporated into the present platform. A new Ranger and aluminum-body F150-based Expedition would be a higher priority. The slow-down and cost with retooling plants for the '15's and the resultant lost sales will take a while to recover. Updating smaller car lineup would enable meeting mileage requirements and be better prepared for surviving the next oil crisis, economy slowdown, and will likely be a goal so they won't be caught flat-footed again. New Lincolns to grow luxury market will also be a higher priority.

As for price of a 2020, you probably aren't far off.

2020 is likely unless sales fall short and they loose market share. Then you can expect a rush to redesign at the 2-3 year mark.
