My sync 3 occasionally freezes or goes black. In my S4 I can hold down 3 buttons and perform a quick reboot of the audi mmi. I do not want to do master reset everytime. Just wondering if anyone knows of a quick soft reboot.

Yes there is a way you can even do it while driving at the press and hold the power/volume large **** and then the "right arrow" key at the same time and hold till screen goes off.
Nicely you can do this with one hand while driving. Thanks Ford.


This is will reboot as if you've turned off the car and left it for a while releases frozen screens or failed phone syncs.
Just check it does't erase your 911 contacts I have checked and it they were gone after doing it but I occasionally note they spontaneuously disappear strangely at other times.

This still works (19 more year). Saved us today on our long road trip. CarPlay wasn’t coming up and doing this make it work.
