I went with the Roush Cold Air intake ($400) and the MBRP black dual exhaust ($720) and it was so loud I ended up spending another $200 to get a new resinator installed. All in all, I would not do this again.

This jogged my memory just enough to recall the Roush POS exhaust I initially installed on my '12 5.0. Totally over the top noise, and talk about drone, the worse exhaust I've ever had on any car/truck since 1968. Didn't even sound good. And Roush claims, "no drone". Then came the pissing away of more time/money trying to make that joke liveable. Eventually it was, once I installed a Borla.
Talked to Roush a couple times, the guys reply? "We never heard of that before." I won't dispute they know Mustangs, but that made me leery of anything Roush for an F150.

This reminds me of a post on a Vette forum years ago where a new member threw away the OEM exhaust system from the cats back. He spent a lot on the new system only to spend a lot to buy back his OEM exhaust he gave away for next to nothing.

The 2 things that come to mind are buying a set of LED Fog Lights and the Husky Rear Wheel liners. The Fog Lights work fine but they don't have the same color as the LED Headlights so my OCD won't let me run them both at the same time. I don't know what set of LED fogs would match perfect but I would gladly buy them. My beef with the Husky Rear Wheel liners is their longevity. They fit in okay but deformed after a year or so. I ended up buying a set of OEM rear wheel liners and they have been fantastic.

One thing I did that I DON'T regret is getting a tuner from 5*. I run the 91 performance/tow and I absolutely love it. It drives so nice now.

I'll second Junkie's post about the MBRP exhaust. I have the 'before the tire side exit' system and it cab drones like a ****. It's obnoxiously loud to me at times. Other times I enjoy it. I'm used to it now, but I miss the peace and quiet especially during longer drives. To MBRP's credit, they clearly warn that it is a loud system, but Youtube videos didn't make it seem THAT loud. Oh well, I'll get the next one.

Full Race ceramic coated catted downpipes and SPD adapters. I did them both, drove the truck down the street and back and pulled back in the garage to remove the downpipes. I left the SPD adapters because they weren't hurting anything , but they didn't really help anything either. Both gave a little more sound , but no noticeable gains in power. The main reason for removing the downpipes was the horrible fit. It seems like they took their downpipe that fit previous years and just decided it was close enough for the 17 and up. O2 sensor positions made no sense and put a strain on the wiring and the exhaust was routed less than a half inch from the plastic transmission pan.

Fortunately, I did save mine. I think I'll end up swapping out the muffler (havent checked yet if stock will fit) and keeping the dual black rear exits.
