Isn’t that what folding mirrors are for?
not trying to be smart - I have to fold my mirrors to get in my barn doors.

I normally don't park on that side of garage. I only pulled the truck halfway in during my lunch break because it was raining... but I forgot to pay attention when leaving. Lesson learned.

Seriously my wife took out the passenger side mirror 4 times in our Expedition. The dealer told me they ALWAYS have that mirror in stock as so many people do the same thing. I seem to remember that usually all I had to do was replace the mirror and motor mechanisms never the entire thing. I think if you are backing up and the mirrors detect movement in that direction the car should automatically apply the brakes.

First day I owned mine stopped on the way back from dealership. Some f'ing moron clipped my driver side mirror while we were in having lunch. Came out from lunch and there's my mirror HANGING down. Of course I went off like a freaken rocket but fortunately was able to pop it back in place. Had one tiny crack on the plastic shell but everything else was ok.......... I started thinking the damn truck was jinxed after it happened!!! Had it year now and other then the dreaded oil pan leak everything has been....
