Default Thank God for the Hitch!

Merry Christmas All,

While stopping in bumper to bumper Friday/ holiday traffic, I was rear ended by an Explorer.....hard, sandwiched between that and a work van. After getting my wits together, and checking on my Wife, I got out to check on the at fault driver....that Explorer was totaled.....caved in and air bags out. My SCAB....bumpers back and front need replacement and the tailgate has some damage at the bottom, but that's it. That Hitch saved a lot of damage to the aluminum. That's why I drive trucks....I was going to take my 96 Cobra today....that would have been totaled, and we would have made a hospital visit.

Have a great holiday.....and please be safe.

Scott

Glad you got out of it with minor damage !
And no injuries !! that"s the best part !

I had the same situation this past summer, had to go fix a toilet @ Moms.
Took the truck instead of the Vette or the bike.....And someone hit the front corner of my truck in traffic..... very minor damage to the truck!
The vette would have been a lot worse...... and don't want to think if i had been on the Harley what the outcome could have been !

Lol.. I remember my hitch folding a Chevy cavalier hood like an accordion.

Was at a light and the girl behind me thought the light turned green and hit her gas (despite the fact I wasn't moving).

Truck was fine and I didn't even use her insurance information, I did take it though in case soomething popped up. The only thing that popped up was her hood though. Her boyfriend came and even laughed, he had a Chevy 1500.

But agree, that hitch is the first line of defense in the back.
