Default Temp actuator

I have a 2015 F150 3.5EB, been having some HVAC issues.
Currently what the issue is, is that the temperature blend actuator seems to "over rotate" when the dial is turned to max cold or max hot. I've tried two different actuators - a FoMoCo part and one from O'Reileys and both do the same.

Could it be a signal the the actuator is receiving ??

I know what it is doing but not why! Maddening!!

Advice / Wisdom is appreciated.

Hello,
Well, I have discovered what is happening, but I'm not sure why it failed.
the pocket or well the temp actuator fits into has a plastic stop post, that stops the actuator from turning too far
when it is turning the blend door open and closed. What has happened is that stopper post has failed or torn loose
allowing the actuator plate to over-rotate and in my case would not divert the air over the heater core- no heat.
Since the stopper post is part of the molded plastic heater box, it would require replacing the whole heater box, to the tune of several thousand $$$$.
I have removed the actuator and I manually reach under the dash and move the blend door to heat or cool or in between.
it works fine , but is a pain in the ***, I've left it on "hot" for the winter and regulate by shutting the hvac off when I need to.

Hope this helps.

KE

I would take that panel out, and install a new post of some sort. JB weld, and make it thicker in some dimension that would help. I did something similar with a grip on a revolver I had to repair. The alignment pin had sheared off, so I found a drill bit the same size, and drilled ever so slightly down into the grip. Then I inserted the pin into the recess with good epoxy, and it has been holding together great.
