Default Tailgate: Release-n-Close?!

So, I just saw the competition’s latest full-size fully-loaded pick-up (a Che** Hig* Country) at a car show! It has an automatic release tailgate; push the button on the key-fob or tailgate and CLICK…it drops in a dampened mode. No big deal – Right?! But…push the button again and Wa-La…it closes, latches and locks by itself! Cool!

So…I quickly checked my 2015, in-case I was missing something. I sure was!...I was missing…the “close” feature! LOL

So, since this is now available on a production truck, does anyone know of an aftermarket add-on to accomplish this feature? Maybe even a FORScan mod?

Any Ideas?....Thanks all – just got-a have that close tailgate feat!

There is no close function in the current truck, short of doing some custom modifications. The 2021 F150 will have this feature available if it means that much to you

Forscan won't help, there is not motor in the Ford to make them go up.

I prefer to close my own tailgate. I used to think the tailgate/clamshell glass system on our '75 Caprice wagon was pretty cool. Then it stopped working.

Lightest tailgate I've had on a full size truck, even my 15 year old daughter doesn't complain.
And I have the step.

The tailgate stepgate has a torsen bar to assist when closing. If yours feels heavy, there might be a problem with it.

My 2018 doesn't have any 'torsen' bar. It's heavy initially, but not overly so. Once it's about 45deg, it's quite easy from there. To get a motor and arm to close it, it'd eat into the space IMO, so I rather close it manually too.
