Default Tailgate Light Strip

I installed a tailgate light strip on my 2019 F-150 XLT and it works well without any issues EXCEPT...the info center reports right/left lamp out when I use the turn signals, and the trailer connected (no brake applied)/disconnected (brake applied) warning comes on when I apply the brakes. Could it be possible because it is all LEDS (turns signals also sequence on the strip) and I need to add some resistors into the cct?

Any ideas?
Thanks!

If you used your trailer connection you will have this issue. You should tap the lights.

Thanks CAPERJ!

I have a trailer hitch insert with a lighted Ford emblem. It plugs into the flat trailer plug and works Great: running lights, the letters and oval are dim - brakes and they brighten up - COOL!
But as above, the truck keeps telling me I have a light out or my "trailer" is missing! LOL

I intend to wire the oval low mode to the tailight running light and add then a flasher to my CENTER HIGH MOUNTED LIGHT and then run the emblem high mode from the flashing circuit....

Where did you get your lighted oval if I may ask?

I think I solved my own issue. I added 100 ohm 1 watt resistors between each line and ground on the trailer harness and all the warnings have stopped and the light strip works as expected.

I tapped the taillight wires for mine, order some Posi Taps and use dielectric grease and bundle with fabric tape.

Unless you want to crimp, solder, and wrap.

Posi taps work well, but I incorporated the resistors into the existing harness from the light strip with solder and heat shrink tubes and silicone sealer. Completely encased in a waterproof covering.
