I bought a full set of Lobo emblems (2 fender emblems and one tailgate emblem) from Quirkparts. The fender emblems went on pretty straight forward and look great. What has me puzzled is the tailgate emblem. On the application side it is two dimensional and I don't understand why that is. I'm not sure if the raised portion slides into the lower part on installation or if it just comes out of the larger part .....let me know your opinion on how to make this work ! Thank you for your help.

 

Maybe it was meant to overlay another emblem?

 

This what the finished product is supposed to look like. I guess just the LOBO letters in the emblem comes out of the larger housing (?).

I think that emblem is for a platinum tailgate as they have the big chrome plaque with an indentation for the F150 on the lower left...that's why your emblem is double thick

 

I think you are correct. Researching I found the info below. So how do I get the correct smaller emblem?

 

if it was me I would just take a hack saw blade and cut the high part down until it was flat (you might need to file it down alittle as well), apply some 3M tape and then you're done. Otherwise you might try calling one of the OEM suppliers like Tasco Ford and talk to them live to see if they can visually verify before shipping to you
