I assume the Large Raceface? Local store has the small one, which is a complete no-go on the F150. I did NOT try the Large, looks like it has a bit more room to go over the tailgate. On the small the fork pads couldn't sit in the right spot. I believe the Large doesn't have those and just has the single pad.

Yes, the large pad. I had a SoftRide before. RF is much better.

Funny, I just checked the online store where I bought it in April and they are out of stock. They only have the small. Must be popular with F150 owners.

I couldn't find the large easily either, which is why i tried the small.

I think the Dakine DLX Curve will be the best fitting, that's my guess anyways. The Yakima is very nice though, very thick padding.

Can anyone comment on the approximate distance between the front of the bed (5.5') and the rear of the bike tire when using a tailgate pad like these? I am curious whether or not I can leave my extang solid fold on and still have room for a full suspension MTB.

I have a 6.5 bed, this is the clearance I have with my trifold.

Yakima also came out with the Gatekeeper. I got one last fall as it was the only pad available locally. I originally bought the large but it was a bit too wide so it would hit my tonneau cover rails when closing the tailgate. So I exchanged it for the medium and have been happy with it. When I'm loading and unloading 4-5 bikes it makes it so much faster and easier than my old hitch rack.

Anyone try out the Dakine DLX yet on a newer truck? I just picked up a 2019, and I'm noticing a lot of the pads don't seem to work well with the combination of the thicker, tapered tailgate and the high mount handle/camera.

The Dakine fit like crap, sent it back.

The Yakima was the best one out of the 4 i tried. That's the one i kept, had the best padding and held the bikes the best on my F150.

Because of the weird curvature of the new tailgates, they all fit funny. I only toss mine on when I need it because it looks goofy.

Despite the weird fit, they are awesome and super reliable. We hauled on to to get from Atlanta, to Moab, and back.
