Default Tailgate bike pads

Hey all, new member. Ordered a new 2016 F150 Lariat and should be getting within a month or two. I have read a few threads about bike racks and such, and a few glanced by the tailgate bike pads. I would like to here more of an in depth review on a few of the brands (Thule, Dakine, etc.) I am leaning towards the Race Face and have seen nothing on that one. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't used one but I'm thinking that they would interfere with the backup camera. Definitely not a deal breaker but a nuisance.

I agree Hudnut. I live on the front range of Colorado, and want something that is quick to get me across town and on the mountain bike trails on the foothills a few times a week. I have a bike rack for the hitch, but is a pain to put on and off, I just use this for longer trips and camping. Won't really need the backup camera for these quick trips.

Bike ricks do mess with the back up assist but you can just turn that off.

Those pads are so overpriced for what they are. Find something similar to throw over the gate at 10% the price.

Unless you have things already in there, what about just putting the bike in the bed. Free.

My bike is about a 5000 dollar investment, even at that price there are some very delicate parts around the gears and handlebars. Transporting it upright is the best way to go.

If that's the case then you might not want to wedge it over a tailgate. Get a proper quick release mount, the kind you remove your front wheel for.
