no. sync 3 uses an entirely new set of hardware. i thought i once saw something like sync 2 uses a 400Mhz CPU and sync 3 uses a dual-core 1.7GHz CPU, along with other hardware which makes it impossible to go from sync 2 to sync 3
Thanks.
Having used Android for years I was just issued an iPhone 6 from my company and all I can say now is, GET THE iPHONE!!!!! I was using a Nexus 4 and prior to that gone through several Droid phones. Those are good phones but they DO NOT work as slick as the iPhone, the biggest difference is the BT hand off and connectivity, it is much better on the iPhone. The only real draw back is that Siri is retarded, that app is just garbage so I just installed my beloved Google apps on the iPhone and use that instead of Siri.......

The top android phones and iphones are both good phones. neither is perfect. SYNC3 + QNX is designed to work with both Android and iOS and both are supposed to be considered first-class citizens on QNX. SYNC3 has some built in Siri support and Android can download SYNC3 Apps over bluetooth (iPhone requires USB cable)..
Use whatever phone works for you. If you get some free Android phone, don't be upset when the bluetooth chip is crap, etc.

I think I figured out the biggest dilemma between the two brands with regards to sync 3. iPhone: Siri hands free, but plug it in for apps Android: Lose personal assistant, but apps work wirelessly. Guess I'll stick with iPhone. I think I value Siri more than the benefit of it having the applink work wirelessly.
