I recently purchased a 2016 xlt without navigation. The current software version is Sync 3 2.0 build 16074.

Correct me if i am wrong... but there should be newer updates out there? I have tried wifi updates, no dice. I have tried to navigate the ford websites and find a maze of broken links, and when i find a place that looks like it will do downloads I enter my vin and it tells me i am up to date.

Am i missing something here? How do i update further than 2.0?

 

Create an account on the Ford Owner website and download the latest Sync 3 update to a USB flash drive. Then install in the vehicle

 

Tried that... cant get it to give me a file... either their web pages are broken and dead links, or... i enter my vin and it tells me i am up to date already...?

 

I have a copy of it downloaded. I am waiting for it to finish uploading but I will post a temp link here when its done. its version 3.0 which should be the max yours can take

 

Truck told me that one was for vehicles with navigation. I dont have nav. Whomp. Dont happen to have one for a truck without nav do you?

I can't seem to find any information anywhere so trying here. I have a 2016 Escape ( yes I know, not a F150 ) and it has Sync 3, 3.0. Am I not able to upgrade to version 3.4?

 

officially you are stuck at 3.0 as ford says it’s not compatible with 3.4. Unofficially you can update to 3.4 but it takes a bit of patience and research to find all of the required files. I have successfully updated 3 different sync units to 3.4 so it can be done.

 

Oh okay thanks so much for the information! Could you point me in the right direction to get the 3.4 version?
