I have downloaded the update to my computer.

Did you unzip the files to send to your USB?
Did you use a new USB to transfer to?

How do I format a new USB to FAT 32?

I have installed the files onto a Lexar USB (36 GB)
I plugged it into the USB port in my F150, & get the message "LEXAR DETECTED", but no message informing me that it is downloading.

Will I know if it is downloading.

I found a video on Fords site that says to unzip to open, save to USB, and scroll down to installing updates to SYNC

I don't seem to get any of this info

I cant even Unzip to open, just have the open option,

Yes, I downloaded it and unzipped it before sending to the USB. I used a new one, but I am sure you could clear out any used one as well. I bought a 64g because the instructions said at least 32g, although I see no real reason why such a large drive should be needed, unless the update does something weird like use the drive for swap area during the update. I did not reformat the drive. I am on Windows 10 and FAT32 is not an option. It only shows NTFS or ExFat as format options. To reformat, you would either right click the mouse when the usb drive is selected, or select the drive and select format under the manage options at the top of the page in file explorer. Hope that helps. I would just delete any files on your usb drive, download and send the unzipped file to the drive without a reformat, and then plug it in the running truck. Also, it takes an extraordinarily long time for the update to actually begin once you plug it in to the drive in the truck. Mine took several minutes, and I ended up unplugging it and plugging it back into the plug in the truck a couple of times to see if it had not recognized it or something. Eventually, like after 3-5 minutes, it started updating, and then took about 20 minutes on mine. Several others have reported the 30 minutes, and maybe that is total time if you don't unplug it as I did. The other odd thing was that it did not immediately show the update was active after completion. It gave some message saying it was complete, but the display showed the previous version number, etc. I turned off the truck and restarted it, and again, initially it didn't show up. After a few minutes, the update appeared and seemed to work properly. Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

Thanks, I had a couple unsucessfull attempts.

I finally use the option on windows 10 to "Extract All..." and saved that file onto the desktop, and transfered it to USB.

When I plugged it in I got a "Indexing Complete message on my Display in the truck.

I'm not sure about that message, but it is definitely slow to start and does not really give much indication if it is working correctly while it is updating. Hopefully you can give it another try and it will cooperate that time. Good luck.
