Default Sync Update

If anyone is having trouble playing music from their iTunes because of licensing/copyright restrictions when the music is downloaded to a USB drive Sync has a patch to fix it. All of my music plays now, before I had lost about half of it unless I played it from an iPhone.
Here's the link:

You need to set up an account if you don't have one.

What version are you seeing? The most recent I see is 3.7.11 from Dec '14.

.
My SYNC version is current.
This was a patch that is installed in iTunes to fix a licensing/copyright issue with music copied from iTunes and played through the USB port.
Sync would not recognize the music and block it even though it was legit. After the patch is installed in iTunes you need to reload the music onto your USB drive and then SYNC will recognize all of your music. It has nothing to do with an upgrade to SYNC. The patch fixes a communication problem between iTunes and SYNC by adding a patch to iTunes.

Set up your account at the above link, then hit the master reset under settings on your MFT display.

There is a firmware update.

Ahh, so it is an iTunes update and not a sync patch.

I have an ipod but not an iphone. Will iTunes still function properly?

I don't even have my truck yet and was wondering how to transfer songs from iTunes to a thumb drive.

I want to put my whole music collection on one usb thumb drive that will play in my truck. I thought about going ahead and getting an early start. However, I don't have any way to test if I'm doing it correctly. I would hate to spend a bunch of time doing that, only to discover when my truck arrives, that it won't play for some reason.

iTunes still seems to work fine. I don't think that you can get the patch until you have your truck and have a SYNC account. The download prompt disappeared after the download completed. Once you have the patch on a windows computer you can drag and drop your music from iTunes to the USB drive. Make sure the file format on the USB is FAT32. When you put the drive in the truck SYNC will index and set up voice commands for the files and its ready to go. SYNC would not allow me to play about half of my music until I installed the patch, even though I had purchased the music through the iTunes store.
