Thanks to all on this thread!

I have not yet done anything to this truck. I have Forscan and a HUGE pile of audio equipment ready to install as soon as my work schedule calms down a little. My Sync system started acting funny a few weeks ago. Bluetooth drops and reconnects constantly, BT audio very jittery, voice and touch commands slow to respond. GPS not working at least 50% of the time.

As I mentioned previously, I have an appointment scheduled next Saturday at the dealer. After reading about your earlier success, I decided to give it a try as well.
Downloaded software, installed with no issues.

Everything is now even slower than before! Some screens seem to speed up, but then slow down again.

With many having the same issue, I'd guess this is software related. However, I'm sure the dealer will be quick to blame my audio system once it gets installed..... so I want to make sure we are good to go prior to doing any of that work!

Funny... same outcome here today. Recall completed, APIM on order!

Did you have to pay for the APIM or did ford cover it? I have a 2017 explorer with 38k miles on it doing same thing. I’ve had it to dealer for updates but goes right back to same issues.

Mine was covered under warranty... but an 18 with under 10k miles.
The APIM replacement has worked flawlessly!

yea I’m pretty sure I’m out of warranty. I called ford again... Going back to dealer this week and we’ll go from there. I first complained about this months ago before it was out of warranty though so I’m hoping I can get it covered. Thanks for the info.

If you don't have an ESP, expect to spend about $1k at the dealer to replace the APIM. You can do it yourself a little bit cheaper, and it isn't very difficult to replace (at least in the F-150).

They extended the coverage on the MyFordTouch equipped vehicles, but they are still having this issue and should extend coverage to Sync3 equipped vehicles if you ask me. I've had one replaced already, which was covered under my ESP, but I fear I won't be covered again because I've messed with FORScan (a risk I took).

So this car is actually a lease. It’s up the end of the year. Not sure how or if that affects this at all. Luckily the dealer I work with is great and it goes back in on Wednesday. They ran diagnostics on it before but ford says they don’t see record of it. Hoping to get to the bottom of this soon. If not I’m turning it in ASAP!🙂
