The box it came in
The part number on the new CarPlay capable part
Took this idea from another user and used a plastic card to protect my truck while prying out the old usb module
Took more effort than I expected and I did have to work out for a minute or two but it does just pop right on out
Part number on the old module
after swapping the connectors onto the new module
Plugged it all back in and it does appear to be blue lighting with this part number. Matches the old one so there is no visual evidence anything has changed.

when this software update goes live, after you update the usb module. Will this add apple car play to an early model 2016 that doesnt have navigation?? I have nav in my truck but my buddys truck doesnt.

Contacted a local dealer and also oemfordparts and both said the part # HC3Z-19A387-B its discontinued. Anyone!?

Does he have the screen even though he doesn't have nav or no!? I would think that without the big screen it wouldn't be compatible but I'm just speculating.
