Default Sync 3 usb error

Anyone ever seen this error? What is my issue? Front USB ports are not working. Tried multiple cables, multiple devices. The error is always on there even when nothing is plugged into the ports. Tried to reboot sync also.

I would start by popping the USB plug out and making sure the connectors are seated correctly. Then chase them into the back of the radio and seeing if they connected correctly. If so then one of three things. Bad USB connector or cable between the radio and USB connector or bad APIM (Radio) if you are under warranty take it in and let them deal with this. If not start simple by checking connections. Then USB hub next cable then APIM.

Maybe, it’s my wife’s ride. She said “near but not on” the usb. Would moisture fry that usb module or worse?

Yup it has 5V's on it to charge your phone or what ever else you want to power. So if something was spilled in it then it might have shorted it out. Plug your phone in and see if you get a charging indicator. If not you have your answer. They cost less then $50.00 for a new one and they are easy to change out.

I changed out the usb port and its still not working. Would it be the cable between hub and radio also?

If its not the hub then your only choices are the usb cable or the 12V power. The light can be on and not have 12V power.

I did a Sync 4in to 8in conversion on my truck so I don't know where that power comes from on your truck.
