Is there anyone who has had a successful update to version 17011 on a thumb drive willing to share the update just to see if it's a download/installation issue that I/we/others are having. I'm willing to try and pay for shipping both ways. PM me if you're interested and I will share the outcome with everyone. Thanks

The best I can tell is that I only lost voice recognition. Everything else works. Do you have a suggestion? I'm willing to try anything to help solve this issue.

Well I tried everything from: installing each file separately, Sync fuse pulled, soft reset, hard reset and battery disconnected. Nothing changed. Everything works but voice recognition either by Sync or Siri. What's next? Replace the APIM or reprogram it?
I downloaded the update, extracted the files onto a usb stick and followed their instructions, but could never get the top of the screen to change to updating, (if you don't see that it is not working). So I called Sync support and was told it is working I just need to give it an hour (again no updating at the top of the screen), I gave up and pulled the stick, got a message that the installation was paused and would resume when the stick was reinserted, put the stick back in and got an installation failed message.
Hmm okay I thought it must have been working I was just not patient enough so I tried again and waited, never updated, so I called sync support again and was told the USB stick I was using was too large (128GB), didn't make sense but I went ahead and put it on a 32GB stick, again no updating message.
I then called support and asked them them what the directory structure should be on the stick (after a while they were able to tell me that there should be a folder that not all files should be in the same directory), when I unzipped the files they all went on the root on the USB stick, which was the problem, only the autoinstall.lst and DONTINDX.MSA files should be on the root, along with the SyncMyRide folder which should contain the following files:
GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz
HB5T-14G386-TCB.tar.gz
HN1T-14G381-SA.tar.gz
HN1T-14G391-CC.tar.gz
HN1T-14G423-CA.tar.gz
Once I had the directly structure correct, I plugged the USB drive in and instantly got an installing message at the top of the screen, 20 min later I was running 2.2.
I hope this helps, it would have saved me a few hours...

WOOHOO!!!! I decided to pull the APIM and was going to try to use an APIM from another truck. When I got my unit out I noticed I had a bent pin on row 1 about mid way. I straightened the pin and now everything works perfectly.
I had forgotten that I had pulled the unit to install my Sync 2 so that I could demo and video that it worked before I sold it. I must have bent the pin rushing to get it back together before I had to go out on the road.
Man am I happy !!!

Lucas8888, what's the trick to update from 2.0 to 2.2? I've tried, and to fails each time. Plus it broke my Gracenote. I'm hoping if I get the upgrade to 2.2 to work, it will fix the Gracenote issue.
